Every day a new network-based control comes to market with its own operating concept which includes also data transfer to and from the company's server. But the different vendors also use different techniques, different operating systems and different network protocols. While the japanese vendors often use FTP as transfer protocol, the european vendors either use SMB/Netbios (Windows) or NFS in case of Linux/Unix. these protocols work perfectly but they have the handicap that a central logging of load transactions becomes difficult.

Companies in medical and aerospace industry must be able to prove when, where (on which machine) which part with which part program version was produced. This kind of logging is easily possible when using FTP which is the base of all Quinx DNC applications.
Therefore we developed an FTPClient which can be implemented on different Windows-based controls. In several vendors' software we can configure to operate the FTPClient with the control's softkeys.

Quinx FTPClient can be used on any Windows control and works with any FTP server software, even freeware and shareware FTP!
